Change can feel impossible when life seems stuck. Moving the River offers a safe, relational, and integrative space to explore what’s happening, understand patterns, and regain traction. I work mainly online with adults across the UK, drawing on a number of concepts and perspectives to support positive change that is steady, authentic, and sustainable.

Every journey begins with the first step, and it’s taken courage for you to take this first step in seeking support. Starting therapy can be daunting, and will be tough at times, but it can lead to long-lasting positive change. Moving the River offers confidential and judgement free counselling and psychotherapeutic services in a safe space online to adults resident in the UK.

For me Moving the River as a metaphor represents the concepts of perpetual change and constant motion, symbolising the continually changing nature of life and even ourselves. Just as a river flows around obstacles, the metaphor encourages us to be adaptable and resilient in finding peaceful ways to navigate challenges rather than resisting them. Embracing the flow and letting go of forced control can lead to natural growth and a deeper peace, much like the river carving its way to the sea.

Typical presenting issues, what clients bring:

  • Anxiety and low mood

  • Relationship difficulties & family dynamics

  • Low self-esteem & worth

  • Addictive/compulsive patterns

  • Life transitions & feeling stuck

How therapy can help:

  • Recognise patterns and the stories that hold them in place

  • Experience a safe, collaborative, relational space where new choices can emerge

  • Translate insight into awareness, choice, and realistic next steps at a pace set by you

Navigate, not endure.
